Goals and Objectives
1. To develop a menu of evidence-based, authoritative, educational programs that will be offered in multiple media formats, are cost effective, easy to use, and that are sensitive to the varied needs of different healthcare providers which will increase the likelihood that these materials will be used by prescribers.
2. To develop an extensive system of dissemination activities through the efforts of our consortium members aimed at increasing the knowledge base and training of prescribers (or those in training who will become prescribers) from diverse multi-disciplinary healthcare backgrounds.
3. To develop a novel system of peer support and mentoring for providers from diverse clinical backgrounds and who practice in diverse geographic and demographic areas, both urban and rural, in order to provide the necessary support to increase confidence in the ability to safely and effectively utilize opioids in patients with chronic pain or opioid use disorders.
